Summary:
#BEACTIVE DAY 2024 focuses on how to increase the fitness and physical sector’s ever-growing contribution to the European Week of Sport (EWoS), under the core vision of getting more people, more active, more often.
The Action promotes physical activity as a tool for health through the core message of #BeActive by fostering greater participation in physical activity events during the last week of September. The consortium is composed of EuropeActive (Belgium) and 8 Fitness National Associations from Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Ireland, Latvia, Romania, Slovenia and the Netherlands. The Action focuses on lowering barriers to physical activity for people with disabilities and on limiting the ecological footprint of the campaign’s events. An Accessibility Guide and a Sustainability Guide will be produced, compiling practical tips and tricks and good practice examples to do so effectively. After a Capacity-Building Workshop in Riga in April 2024, leading up to the organisation of 8 Campaign Launch Events by each partner country in May-July 2024 to present the campaign’s rationale and goals to a broad audience of sport and physical activity stakeholders from the private and public sector, the partners will support one another in delivering their 8 national #BEACTIVE DAY campaigns, multiplying the number of events, across their respective countries and beyond, in collaboration with their members, partners, and sector stakeholders.
#BEACTIVE DAY 2024 will also feature an event in Brussels during the EWoS, strengthening the importance and visibility of the Week in the heart of European Affairs, and a Final Conference in December 2024, involving high-level EU policymakers, where the data and results of the campaign, as well as video featuring a series of teaser clips about the different national events, will be presented. A Campaign overview video will be created at the end of project to disseminate the results and secure the continuation of the initiative.
This project is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ Sport Programme of the European Union.
