Summary:
#BEACTIVE DAY 2025 aims to enhance the fitness and physical activity sector’s ever-growing contribution to the European Week of Sport (EWoS), aligning with the core vision of encouraging more people to be more active, more often.
The project promotes physical activity as a tool for health, championing the #BEACTIVE message and fostering greater participation in physical activity events during the European Week of Sport in September. The consortium comprises EuropeActive (Belgium) and National Fitness Associations from Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, and Sweden.
#BEACTIVE DAY 2025 places particular emphasis on the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases through Health-Enhancing Physical Activity (HEPA). The project aims to equip the consortium with the necessary expertise to offer adapted physical activity programmes. The objective is to alleviate the burden of NCDs on individuals and healthcare systems while enhancing people’s quality of life, well-being, and overall health outcomes.
One of the outcomes of the project will be a HEPA Guide, providing practical tips and inclusive approaches to fitness and physical activity for those affected by or at risk of NCDs.
Following a Capacity-Building Workshop in Belgrade in April 2025, the process of organising Campaign Launch Events—one per partner country—will commence. Between May and July 2025, the campaign’s objectives and rationale will be introduced to a broad audience of stakeholders in the sports and physical activity sectors, spanning both public and private domains. The consortium will collaborate to support each other in delivering their national #BEACTIVE DAY campaigns, expanding the number of events across their respective countries and beyond through partnerships with members, affiliates, and key sector stakeholders.
#BEACTIVE DAY 2025 will also include an event in Brussels during EWoS, reinforcing the significance and visibility of EWoS at the heart of European policymaking. Furthermore, the Final Conference in December 2025 will bring together high-level EU policymakers to present the campaign’s data and outcomes. To ensure the initiative’s longevity, a Campaign Overview Video will be created at the project’s conclusion, disseminating results and securing the continuation of the movement.
This project is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ Sport Programme of the European Union.
Objectives:

Increase participation in sport and physical activity by expanding the #BEACTIVE DAY campaigns throughout September 2025, reinforcing the fitness sector’s role in the European Week of Sport.

Raise awareness and build capacity around HEPA (Health-Enhancing Physical Activity), highlighting physical activity as a tool for health and reducing barriers for individuals with non-communicable diseases (NCDs)..

Facilitate knowledge-sharing, networking, and capacity-building among consortium partners at national levels through a Capacity Building Workshop and nine campaign launch events.
