On 12 November, EuropeActive will host the 4th Edition of the Forum For Anti-Doping in Recreational Sport online.
The Forum is organised by the FAIR+ project under the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme. FAIR+ analyses the existing prevalence of doping in recreational sport through sample-based research through investigating the societal and psychological motivations behind the use of doping at an amateur level. Moreover, the project will establish the “FAIR+ Guidelines” which will provide several recommendations on how to effectively set-up educational campaigns targeting recreational sport coaches, instructors, and trainers; and eventually will produce indications on how to evaluate and measure their efficiency.
The 2020 Forum will host a debate on the scope of anti-doping regulation and powers with regard to sanctioning non-elite populations, during which representatives of Sport Organisations and Anti-Doping Agencies will present their views on the roles and powers of NADOs.
Finally, academics, representatives of public authorities and international organisations will provide the audience with their points of view on the definitions of recreational sport and athletes before opening the floor to the (virtu) audience for an interactive debate.
