The future of the EU and health priorities on the agenda of next week in Europe

On 11-14 September 2017, European health leaders (ministers of health, WHO Director-General, Prime Ministers, etc.) will meet in Budapest, Hungary to take decisions on health and well-being priorities in the WHO European Region, which include the EU, central and eastern Europe, the Caucasus and central Asia. It will cover a broad range of topics such as access to medicine and health workforce.

On 13 September 2017, Jean-Claude Juncker, president of the European Commission, will give is annual State of the Union Speech, at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. This yearly event allows the president to take stock of the achievements of the past year and to present priorities for the year ahead. According to Politico, for Junker’s legacy at least, the speech is his last chance to be remembered for more than just Brexit…
