Fitness.be has signed a Memorandum of Trust and Understanding with the EuropeActive Professional Standards Committee for the Belgian Register of Exercise Professionals (BREPS) to become a part of the EREPS Programme. The signing of the MoUT marks a significant step forward in the development of both registers and will mean that registrants will be recognised both the nationally within Belgium and across Europe. The agreement will also mean that the two registers will continue to communicate closely to ensure that the Belgium fitness sector flourishes and continues to professionalise itself while actively contributing to the development and growth of the sector across Europe.
With regards to the signing of the MoUT, Julian Berriman, the Director of the EuropeActive Professional Standards Committee said,
“We are delighted to welcome BREPS into the EREPS community. I am sure that the mutual recognition and on-going co-operation that this agreements represents will make a significant contribution to the future growth and prosperity of the European fitness sector”
Eric Vandenabeele, the Director of Fitness.be commented,
“The fitness industry has evolved into a fully-fledged industry. It plays an important role within different social issues - employment, welfare, preventative health care, lifelong education and social affairs. Recognition of qualifications plays an important role. We need a strong international organisation with strong nationally endorsed anchoring. Therefore this partnership is a necessary step towards success.”
